A guaranteed ‘WAOUH’ effect… (At 15 minutes from Camping Padimadour)
The Gouffre de Padirac is worldwide known. It is the best known limestone cave of France and one of the most fascinating sites of Europe to visit. The cave has a diameter of 35 metres and at its bottom, at 103 metres under the ground, the Padirac river runs through a network of 40 km of galleries, including just 2 km open to the public. The limestone cave can be visited on a small boat on the underground river followed by a hike. During the visit, you’ll be crossing enormous and breathtaking halls like the Grande Pendeloque, a stalagmite of more than 60 metres high dominating the Lac de la Pluie, followed by the Lac des Gours, a succession of natural dams and the Salle du Grand Dôme, with a 94 metres high ceiling. During your stay in the LOT, a visit to the Gouffre de Padirac IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST…
In high season, the Gouffre de Padirac is very popular! We highly recommend you to order tickets online to prevent you from queuing…
